The split thing is new. We received our first AG dolls around here this past Christmas. Kit and Felicity. Kit doesn't have it and Felicity does. Mari is stashed away and she has it too. I asked on the board before and the response was that they are doing this so that the material around their neck in the front will lay flat. It is true, the material doesn't wrinkle around the front on Felicity the way it does on Kit, but I personally think that the v in the back or split or whatever you call it looks aweful. Like someone didn't have enough material when they were sewing and goofed up, so they added more at the last second.

I thought Mari's bottom looked a little "small" even compared to the Kit and Felicity we got this past Christmas and I do have a Sam from the 90, she is chubby, that I mostly keep as my display doll...and she sits better than any of the other dolls we have.

My ballet skirt is wrinkled too

I have to say that I think Marisol is the prettiest doll now. Josefina is still my favorite, though.
I haven't seen the split thing, do all the Marisols have it?

I don't have Marisol...even though I want her! I do have the tap outfit though and wanted to warn you to be very careful that you don't let the velcro on the back of the leotard touch the tights. It is difficult to get it on and definately no child's task!!! These patterned tights seemed to snag way to easy and I wish that they had put snaps or a zipper into the leotard instead of the velcro!!! It is an adorable outfit though!

Thanks for the tip! I haven't earned my tap outfit out of the stash yet, but I have an idea. Maybe it would help to put the leotard on first and the tights on second. When I danced with our church dance group, that's the way we wore our tights--makes it easier to go to the bathroom without needing to completely undress.

I originally bought my Marisol to keep, but then decided that I would someday sell her. Now I am changing my mind again. Dressing her in the hisoric clothing helps. I love putting Samantha and Nellie's clothes on her.

I am now thinking about making her my doll from any time period.

And I ordered another Marisol for DH! He thinks it's the weirdest thing I've ever done. But I'll sell her, and he won't think it's so weird anymore!

My Felicity has the fold on the back of her body. It doesn't bother me, but it is surely different!

My Marisol is still in her box, still with the packing clamps around her neck, etc. I was happy to open the box and not feel a great connection to her because I purchased her as a future sell rather than part of my collection. I was afraid I'd fall in instant love with her and want to free her from her constraints. I'm glad that didn't happen. She is a pretty doll though, no doubt about that.

does anyone know why the bodies seem to be getting slimmer and have flatter butts?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Maybe Marisol is slim because of all the dancing she has done.
